kripto clipper A crypto clipper is a type of malware or malicious software designed to steal cryptocurrency from victims by manipulating their clipboard. Here’s how it typically works:
Crypto clippers watch an infected device’s clipboard. When you copy a cryptocurrency wallet address (such as a Bitcoin or Ethereum address) to your clipboard, the malware recognizes the action.
Address Replacement: When the virus finds a bitcoin address in the clipboard, it replaces it with the attacker’s address. This means that if you paste the address into a cryptocurrency transaction, you will unintentionally send your coins to the attacker’s wallet rather than the intended receiver.
Stealth Theft: The victim is often unaware that the address on their clipboard has been changed. As a result, they proceed with the transaction, believing they are sending funds to the intended receiver.
